2014年12月9日，美國服裝及鞋類產(chǎn)品安全協(xié)會（AAFA）在孟加拉國首都達卡舉行的美國國際產(chǎn)品安全、工人安全及供應鏈符合性會議上發(fā)布了最新受限物質(zhì)清單，其中增加的受限化學物質(zhì)鄰苯二甲酸二異己酯、氯化鎘、硼酸鈉，硼酸及鈉鹽、過硼酸鈉（無水）都涉及到紡織服裝、鞋、旅行用品、家用紡織品和其它時尚配件。另外清單中移除了六氯環(huán)己烷，此類物質(zhì)可能對紡織品影響比較小。
為了提高受限物質(zhì)清單（RSL）的功能性和實用性，AAFA創(chuàng)建了AAFA移動客戶端供用戶免費下載使用。通過此客戶端用戶能對將近200種受限化學品進行過濾、查找和分類。
受限物質(zhì)清單（RSL）協(xié)助品牌、零售商和制造商識別其產(chǎn)品可能含有的危害物質(zhì)，符合產(chǎn)品銷售市場的相關要求。以下為RSL具體更新情況：
